The National quality label “Tourism-Handicap”

This label has a double purpose:
- to offer a reliable and unbiased information on the accessibility to accommodation centres, tourist sites and leisure centres while taking into account the different types of handicap.
- to develop a suitable offer for the tourists
This label is the result of a partnership between people working in the tourist industry, disabled people, societies and the State Secretariat of Tourism

Road facilities

Some sound case have been installed on traffic lights so as to allow disabled people to go around the city safely. They just have to use a remote control and a repetitive message indicates the colour of the light and the name of the street you are in.
The remote is available for €28 at the Louis Delamare society for blind people welfare – 12 rue Albert-André Huet – 76 600 Le Havre

  

The beach

The City of le Havre puts leisure equipments suitable to go on the beach at disposal for free at the “Bains Maritimes” during the summer, allowing everyone to enjoy the pleasures that sea bathing and the beach promenade offer. Parking

In Le Havre, about 500 parking spots all over the city are reserved for disabled people along with 51 spots in the underground car parks. Only the holders of the European parking card are allowed to park there. A by-law states that any European parking card holder is allowed to park for free on all the paying parking areas of the city.

“Mobi’fil” service

Paying transport which allows every person who cannot take the bus because of a handicap to travel around the 17 villages in the suburbs of Le Havre. Information: “Mobi’fil” agency at the train station. Monday to Saturday from 8am to 3pm. Tel: 33 (0) 235 223 434
